Parent-Led Intervention
When children are hesitant, young, or overwhelmed, progress often begins with the adults who know them best. Parent-led intervention gives caregivers the skills and structure to deliver evidence-based strategies at home while a therapist guides the process behind the scenes.
Core idea
You become the “coach on the field,” practising exposure steps, emotion-labeling, or behaviour plans in real time; the clinician is your strategist, adjusting plays each week.

What sessions look like
- Therapist meets with parents (child may or may not attend).
- Map triggers and current accommodations.
- Choose one goal (e.g., child sleeps in own bed).
- Parents practise supportive statements, plan small steps, track wins.
- Weekly or bi-weekly tweaks until the goal sticks, then move to the next target.
