A Proven Parent-Based Approach
This program is based on the SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) treatment model. Research shows SPACE is as effective as one-on-one CBT for reducing childhood anxiety.
This group is designed for parents of children ages 3 to 12 who want to feel more capable and supported in handling anxiety-related challenges at home.
Screen time and smartphone access can also play a role in maintaining or worsening anxiety cycles. If you’re navigating decisions about your child’s device use, our Unplugged Canada resource page explains the developmental science behind delaying smartphones and what parents can do to reduce screen-related anxiety.

Why Summer Is the Perfect Time
Summer offers something the rest of the year rarely does: a little more time and a little more bandwidth. Without the daily rush of the school routine, parents have more space to reflect, learn, and practice new approaches. This intensive is designed to take advantage of that window — so that by the time September arrives, you’re not scrambling to respond to your child’s anxiety, you’re already prepared.
Think of it as a small investment now to understand exactly how to meet your anxious child’s needs — before the school year brings its own pressures.
What You’ll Gain
Led by Ola Obaro, RP, this program helps parents: Understand what’s driving their child’s anxiety — and what’s keeping it going Respond in ways that build confidence, resilience, and independence rather than inadvertently reinforcing avoidance Walk away with tools they can begin using immediately at home Head into the school year feeling grounded, equipped, and ready.
A Unique Feature: Individual Case Consultation
What sets this intensive apart is the Wednesday case consultation day. Rather than attending a regular group session, each family books a private 20–30 minute consultation with Ola to discuss their child’s specific needs and receive tailored, individualized guidance. It’s the best of both worlds: the community of a group and the depth of one-on-one support.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to common questions parents ask about this service—so you can feel more confident about what to expect.
What age group is this for?
This group is designed for caregivers of children ages 3 to 12 experiencing anxiety symptoms.
Will my child attend this group with me?
No. This is a parent-only program. Parents learn how to support their children more effectively at home.
What if my child refuses therapy?
That’s okay. The beauty of SPACE is that children don’t need to participate for it to work. The focus is on changing parent behaviour to reduce anxiety over time.
What if I’ve already tried CBT with my child?
SPACE is complementary to CBT and especially helpful when CBT hasn’t fully resolved the anxiety or when a child resists traditional therapy.
Can this be covered by insurance?
Yes, most insurance plans with mental health coverage will accept this under the supervising psychologist’s license.
